The Asian Science Olympiad on Biology (ASOB) is a high-level biology competition for secondary school students in Asia and surrounding regions. It aims to build an international exchange platform in the field of life sciences, inspire young people's enthusiasm for exploring biology, and discover and cultivate outstanding talents with innovative thinking and research potential. As one of the most important competitions in Asian biology education, ASOB is not only a touchstone for testing students' biological knowledge, but also an important bridge connecting educational philosophies from different countries and promoting the development of the discipline.
The Australian Biology Olympiad (ASOB), organized by the Australian Science Innovation Institute (ASI), is the official competition for selecting the Australian IBO national team and is considered Australia's highest-level biology competition. Its results are recognized by top universities worldwide, including Harvard and Cambridge, and are particularly highly regarded in Commonwealth countries. The competition covers undergraduate biology knowledge, with new additions such as synthetic biology, emphasizing experimental design and logical thinking, and fully demonstrating academic potential. Winners have a significant advantage when applying to biomedical and related fields; the 70% Gold Medal winner can enter the world's top 50 universities, and outstanding individuals can advance to the IBO or participate in top-tier research projects.
