The Wharton Global High School Investment Competition (KWHS) is a top-tier business competition hosted by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. It is highly regarded among high school students worldwide and is a significant advantage in business-related university applications. Open to high school students in grades 9-12 globally, teams of 4-7 students from the same school must participate, and each team must have one faculty member as a mentor. A mentor can supervise a maximum of five teams, and mentors cannot be changed arbitrarily; any changes require a written application and approval.
Hosted by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, ranked number one in the US, the competition's certificates and awards are significant boosts for applications to top business schools worldwide. Participants in the 70% competition are likely to be admitted to Ivy League schools or top 20 business schools, and winners may also receive recommendation letters from Wharton professors, greatly increasing their chances of admission to prestigious universities. Furthermore, the competition's investment return rankings can be viewed on the Wharton website, providing tangible evidence of a strong academic background. The competition closely replicates real-world investment scenarios, allowing students to gain in-depth understanding of the financial industry's operations and clarify whether they are suited for careers in finance, investment, or related fields.
