School Introduction
The school boasts first-class facilities, passionate teachers, and highly engaged students. It offers small class sizes and exceptional learning facilities, including a professional theater with a capacity of 550, an open-air theatre, two artificial turf fields with lighting, a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, a climbing wall, an indoor shooting range, a dance studio, and a fully equipped gymnasium.
Academically, in the past two years, 60% students have achieved A* or A grades in the CSE exams, and 75% students have achieved A* to B grades in the A-Level exams. On average, 70% graduates gain admission to Russell Group universities each year, while an average of 6-10 students are admitted to Oxford and Cambridge Universities annually.
Dean Close School, founded in 1886, is one of the oldest private schools in the UK. Located in Cheltenham, a city renowned for its natural beauty, rich history, and culture, it is home to many prestigious schools. The school offers boarding and day education for students aged 2-18, with modern and comfortable accommodations. Since the 19th century, Dean Close has produced numerous Nobel laureates and boasts a high level of academic excellence.
Some of Dinklose's notable alumni include: Frederick Hopkins: Nobel laureate, best known for his contributions to biochemistry; Alex Ferguson: legendary former manager of Manchester United Football Club; and Alex Field: BBC journalist and presenter.
Course Introduction
At Dinklose, math classes begin in carefully selected groups from Year 3, as do spelling classes in Years 4 and 5. All groups follow the same curriculum, but the pace may vary. Some groups may progress faster and face challenges in applying their knowledge and understanding, while the school provides necessary support and reinforcement exercises for students who need assistance.
