TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is an English proficiency test administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) in the United States. It assesses the English language skills of non-native English speakers. Almost all American universities set their own minimum TOEFL score requirements, ranging from 61 to 100 depending on the school, with some business schools requiring higher scores. According to ETS statistics, the average minimum TOEFL score required for undergraduate studies in the United States is 74.2, and for graduate studies, it is 82.6.

TOEFL test format and question types
Listening Section
The format includes multiple-choice questions, academic presentations, and dialogues/academic lectures, each lasting approximately 20 minutes. Each dialogue lasts 2 to 3 minutes, and each presentation lasts 4 to 6 minutes.
Writing Section
Integrated Writing (Reading + Listening) and Independent Writing: This section includes two questions. The independent writing question requires 30 minutes and consists of a short essay of 150-225 words.
Reading section
The section includes multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, summary fill-in-the-blank questions, and sentence fill-in-the-blank questions. This section will take approximately 60 minutes and includes two new question types: "insertion sentence questions" and "drag-and-drop selection multiple-choice questions."
Speaking Section
The TOEFL iBT test, consisting of reading sentences, answering questions, integrated speaking, independent speaking, and lasting approximately 15 minutes, is divided into four sections.
