NEEC Study Abroad News | Congratulations to Kevin on receiving his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley

In the morning mist of the San Francisco Bay Area, the silhouette of the Berkeley clock tower is always shone with a radiant aura of rationality. This academic sanctuary, home to 107 Nobel laureates, now serves as a new beacon for a young Chinese student. Congratulations to Kevin, who, with the support of New England Education International (NEEC), has entered the UC Berkeley Master's program in Mechanical Engineering.

NEEC and Kevin's story

From components to systems:

Let the technical narrative penetrate the paper

Kevin's resume is full of hardcore technology: he once designed a high-precision robotic arm, debugging, overturning, and reconstructing it countless times in the laboratory. But how to make these cold parts "come alive" in the application documents? NEEC's mentor worked with him to sort out the technical logic and transform the complex mechanical principles into a clear storyline.

"We deleted redundant terms and focused on how he used algorithms to break through the bottleneck of transmission errors and how he applied the results to smart manufacturing scenarios." The judges saw not only codes and drawings, but also the resilience and creativity of an engineer in solving problems.

Outside the laboratory,

Finding the temperature of the machine

"Mechanical engineering is about more than just making gears turn faster." NEEC guided Kevin to think beyond the technical perspective and consider his future vision. He wrote in his application, "I want to use robotics to reduce industrial carbon emissions, letting robotic arms assemble solar panels on an assembly line, while also supporting the weight of life amidst ruins."

From precision instruments to environmentally friendly energy, from intelligent manufacturing to disaster relief, his career blueprint is intertwined with his sense of social responsibility, allowing Berkeley professors to see a "technological innovator with warmth."

Gears of Conversation:
From "Engineer" to "Future Creator"

Kevin initially appeared to be a serious "answering machine" during the interview, until NEEC instilled a "conversational soul" in him. During the mock interview, the instructor kept asking, "How will this technology change the lives of ordinary people?" and "What global problem do you hope your research will solve in ten years?"

Gradually, his answers shifted from "modular design" to "sustainable future," moving from servo motor specifications to the vision of a green factory. Ultimately, he and his Berkeley interviewer engaged in a deep conversation about "Technology for Good," resonating their ideals with their academic aspirations.

The sea of stars,

NEEC draws boundaries with you

Kevin's admission is a triumph of idealism. At NEEC, we believe that top universities seek not only "technical geniuses" but also "future creators" with a global vision.

If you are also busy polishing parts in the laboratory, but don’t know how to make your ideal come alive on paper; if you aspire to change the world with technology, but are stuck on how to express your vision——

NEEC is willing to be your "story engineer" and turn cold and hard formulas into hot poems.
